Creative Copywriter & Storyteller (Remote)

About Us
Flywheel Motion is what we do. We work with mission-aligned founders and executives to bring their personal and corporate brands to life and grow them. Five phases (Discovery → Strategy → Build → Activation → Performance), run by a director-led team.
The people we work with are doing real work in the world: climate, deep tech, science-led business, founder-led organizations whose ideas should travel further than they currently do. We The Flywheel is the studio behind it. We are fully remote, fully async, and spread across every timezone — and AI is in everything we ship.
The Role
We want a genuinely good human writer on the team — someone whose native-English prose carries a client's voice, wins the pitch, and reads like a person wrote it. You'll be the writer behind the words that go out into the world on our clients' behalf: pitches, proposals, website copy, PR pitches, press releases, scripts, and the stories that tie a brand together.
You use AI fluently to research, structure, and move faster — but you don't lean on it to think or write for you. You know the difference between AI-assisted and AI-generated, and everything that ships under your name reads unmistakably human. This starts as a part-time trial and grows to full-time for the right person.
What You'll Do
- ▶ Write the persuasive stuff: new-business pitches and proposals that win work, and the follow-through copy that keeps it moving
- ▶ Craft website copy — homepages, landing pages, about pages, product narratives — that sounds like the founder and converts the reader
- ▶ Own the PR surface: press releases, media pitches, contributed articles, award and speaker submissions
- ▶ Write scripts for video, podcast, and social — and enrich long-form pieces with the right multimedia (imagery, clips, callouts, captions)
- ▶ Sit close to strategy and shape a client's narrative and messaging — the throughline that makes everything else sound like one voice
- ▶ Use AI to research targets, gather source material, draft faster, and self-edit — then bring the human judgment, taste, and originality AI can't
Who You Are
- ✓ Native / mother-tongue English. Not fluent — native. Your copy needs no editing pass for idiom, rhythm, or register
- ✓ Genuinely creative — you find the angle, the line, the hook. You can write a founder's keynote and a product tagline in the same week
- ✓ Leverages AI, doesn't rely on it. AI is your research assistant and first-draft accelerant, never your ghostwriter. You can tell — and prove — the difference
- ✓ Entrepreneurial and innovative — you take a brief and run, spot opportunities, and improve the how, not just do the what
- ✓ Multimedia-fluent — comfortable enriching writing with imagery, video, and audio, and scripting for those formats, not just prose on a page
- ✓ Fully async, timezone-independent — you thrive working with a global team across every timezone, clear in writing, accountable without supervision
- ✓ Based in a lower cost-of-living region (e.g. Latin America, South Africa, Southeast Asia) — ideally with reasonable overlap with US/European client hours, while collaborating fully async and globally
What We Need to See (Required)
- ★ Writing samples — a portfolio or a few links that show your range across persuasive, brand, and PR/editorial writing
- ★ Published pieces — bylines, contributed articles, press coverage you wrote, or client work you can attribute (strongly preferred)
- ★ A short note on how you use AI in your process — and where you deliberately don't
Experience (Preferred)
- ○ 3+ years writing professionally — copywriting, brand, content, journalism, PR/comms, or comparable hands-on work
- ○ Experience writing for founders, executives, or subject-matter experts as your client or co-author
- ○ Comfort across formats — long-form, web, social, script, press — rather than a single lane
- ○ Familiarity with modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the like) as part of a real working process
